Xinh Xinh, Greek Corner II, Charlie's Kitchen

Went to Xinh Xinh last Friday night for dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious as usual. Vietnamese has to be my favorite of all and Xinh Xinh is my favorite place to go when I get a craving. I ordered the catfish hot pot per someone's suggestion in an earlier post. It was savory, sweet, salty, and delicious all at once. My DC ordered the shrimp and brocolli with the steamed rice(she is not as adventurous as me foodwise...lol). She absolutely loved it.

Last week after work one day I went to Greek Corner II in Harvard Square because I was starving and just wanted to grab something quick and cheap. I ordered the lamb souvlaki. I am normally not a huge lamb fan because I am not too keen on the muskiness of the meat but this lamb was well seasoned, tender, and delicious. I will definitely return to try some other things on the menu.

Charlie's Kitchen has to be the worst food experience I have had in a while. The service was atrocious and so was the food. We ordered the fried calamari as and appetizer and it was absolutely disgusting. Imagine huge 1 1/2- 2 inch long rings of rubber coated in batter and that is what it was. I cringe just thinking about it. I ordered the double lobster roll as an entree and my DC ordered a simple burger and fries which she said was what she would expect for $4. My lobster roll was a nightmare in itself. I could barely taste any lobster through the half cup of mayo and 2 stalks of celery they used for each roll. I did not expect perfection for $11 but I did expect to at least taste some lobster. They had enough celery and mayo to make potato salad for a family reunion...lol. Honestly i detest McDonalds and I find their lobster roll to be more acceptable than these were. As for the waitress, she shorted me about $2.30 on my change and when I mentioned it to her she insisted I must have miscounted because she gave me the correct change. I showed her what she had given me and she insisted I must have pocketed some. I am sure I am not so poor I need to dupe Charlie's out of $2.30 and I am sure I can count just fine so i left her a $1 tip and a note that said "you already have the other $2.30 so add this to it and it will be a proper tip. I will NEVER be back there.
