XICALA is ok for tapas

today (saturday afternoon) we stopped in this spanish tapas wine bar. we started with a a peach sangria. it was just ok, the wine was poor but yes pulling out the fresh peach slices was a nice way to finish the drink. along with that we had some cod, the classic potato/egg tortilla and some smoked salmon as tapas for an early light dinner. we also split a manzanilla sherry afterward. the cold cod spread over fresh bread was great but the rest was just ok. service is euro-lacidasical. however, this very tiny place is fine for what it is and so don't forget XICALA on your next tapas crawl or post shopping expedition if you happen to be in soho/little italy.
