Wüsthof Laminated Handle

TomDel | Aug 30, 2011 12:52 PM

I have a Wüsthof 10” (26 cm) Classic Long Slicer Model 4522 that I bought over 30 years ago. It’s a great knife and still cuts through a standing rib roast like a razor. Unfortunately, it has the laminated wooden handle which has started to delaminate and come apart.

Wüsthof will take it back and replace it with a new one with the synthetic handle at a reduced price but this knife is like an old pet and I don’t want to just put it down. I’d like to replace the handle but I can’t find a replacement, kit or someone who does this type of work.

I realize that I can buy handle material but I don’t have the tools, skill, or inclination to shape and fabricate one myself. Any suggestions on how or where I can replace this old friend’s handle will be greatly appreciated.
