WS Santa Cruz Farmer's Market reopens

Don't know if there are any West Side hounds out there but FYI the Friday 2-6 farmers market in the parking lot at Kelly's Bakery off of Swift opened for the season last friday. Its a small market but last year I was impressed by the quality available- I bought the most outstanding and beautiful pearlescent egg plants there last summer. Its still early so it was mostly too early strawberries but it should get better. HH Fish (I think) were there so local salmon was available at ~$12#. I bought my first of the season salmon from them at Weds' downtown market and it was very good.

I think there is some wine tasting in the neighborhood as well. I'll have to look in to this as I really want to meet the local gin distillers as well to see what they have going on.

Also has anyone checked out the new Bakery/Cafe at Ocean and Soquel in the former home of Rockin' Tacos/Sushi Boat/Asian Noodle House?

Nathan
