Lately I have gone to a string of "nice" restaurants. Starter, fish main, dessert, no coffee, no booze. $55 plus or minus before tax and tip. The plates are so small that I leave unsatiated. Lunch OK, supper not enough. I figure for this much money I should not want more food, particularly since it has been long since I have been a growing teenager. What has been your experience?
As for the quality of plates, the cooking hasn't been bad overall, but it has not been without flaws nor boredom.
Oh, how I crave a prix fixe lunch in France!
