My wife and I were exploring Central Florida and were searching for BBQ in an area which has become pretty gentrified, Midwestern-retiree-friendly, and therefore pretty hostile to good Q. When we were about to give up and go to Applebee's (sin of sins), we came across a little cabin at 928 on N. Eustis Street called T-Bones BBQ. It apparently was a "branch" of a local grille. I was skeptical, but shocked. As a licensed Memphis in May Q judge, I tend to be pretty critical- but this place was a gem. For $7.95, I got the Carolina Pork platter, which consisted of a mountain (maybe a lb.) of juicy pulled pork seasoned with red pepper and vinegar, NC style. NC BBQ is tough to find here in Florida, and to find it expertly done is impossible. I had moderately good beans and excellent appleslaw with it, and a few massive slabs of toast. Hands down, some of the best Q I have had in Florida, and absolutely the best NC BBQ. Huge portions, cheap, and delicious. In other words, heaven on earth. Their number is 352-357-0033.
