A Worthy Biryani in Little Bangladesh: Biriyani Kabob House [Brief Review with Photos]

J.L. | Nov 19, 201412:24 AM     40

I have a confession to make: I’ve been holding out on you guys.

Biriyani Kabob House has already been open for a few months, and I’ve been “secretly” enjoying the food here for most of that time without writing it up on Chowhound. First off, I am definitely not an expert on Desi cuisine, but my taste buds were definitely loving the complexity of the chicken biryani, the lamb curry, and the freshly made naan. Heck, everything here is pretty much freshly made to order.

The owner and staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is definitely picking up in business, as locals are discovering it. Biriyani Kabob House sits squarely in the relatively newly city-designated “Little Bangladesh” area (newly separated from Koreatown). Parking can be an issue, as the place is situated in a mini-mall with only a few parking spots, but turnover is fast.

Food-wise, for those of you who are also lamenting the recent closure of Zam Zam Market, Biriyani Kabob House presents a superb chicken biryani which may more than satisfy your craving. BUT, the beef biryani here may be even better than the chicken biryani. Note: The restaurant also specializes in cuisine from Hyderabad. Though I’ve not had the Hyderabadi biryani here, I am told not many places in Southern California does this dish.

Disclaimers: I actually have no relationship to this place whatsoever, other than being a frequent customer. The demise of Zam Zam was the catalyst which led me to writing this place up. I hope you guys try it and report back.
