"A challenge: outside of NYC (with a $50 burger with fois gras, etc) is there anywhere else on earth with a $22+ dish described as a hamburger?"
Perceptor promptly responded:
"Josie's of santa monica has a Buffalo Foie Burger and Truffle Fries sirloin of buffalo, ground and stuffed with Gruyere cheese, topped with foie gras and served on a brioche bun at $27.. i have had it.. and i nearly fell off the chair.. freaking good"
But what about the real world? What are the most expensive burgers in the saner climes outside NYC and LA?
