New work holiday party plan -- Please help!

Chowhounds, I really need some help. Here's the story:

I'm in charge of my department's holiday party this year and, this year, it's particularly imperative that I impress.

We've decided to forego the more "serious" multi-course sit down meal this year, so Fiamma (my first thought) is out, as are Gramercy, etc.
-It's for 23 people (ages range from late 20s to early 50s). We'd prefer a private room, but a separate area also would be OK.
-Anywhere in the city
-It can include a sit-down dinner, but we want room to mix and mingle at least for a portion of the evening. I'm not a fan of the one long banquette set-up.
-A lively, fun vibe and good drinks are more important than having the finest cuisine (though there are a few 'hounds in the bunch).
-We don't want a steakhouse or churrascaria plataforma, and we don't want chinese
-Price isn't an issue
-I've already tried/have calls into/am familiar with: 'inoteca, Town, lupa, brguest rest. group, Otto, Bond St., Il Buco, and Public.

I'm fresh out of ideas!!
