I loved this place! Bless the Chowhounds who recommended it.
All vegetarian South Indian food. The lunch buffet included light little idli, puffy pooris, and a big, fresh dosa - I asked what kind of flour it was made of, and the owner said "We use a very powerful grinder for the flour." They grind their own flour!
They also make their own lovely pickle (one of my favorite parts of Indian food is pickle!). Today's was carrot-lemon.
Most of the food was quite spicy, even the salad.
They had uppama on the buffet, something I have made before but never seen at an Indian restaurant.
For dessert, a nice saffron-rice pudding that tasted quite strongly of real saffron, with a few little red threads in it. It was delicious.
The owner was very helpful and explained everything in the buffet to me, the only gringo in the place.
