Wonton Time

A couple of weeks back in the Weekly, Jonathon Gold recommended a soup place on Valley in Alhambra called Wonton Time. I checked it out and I must concur and strongly recommend it. It is a fantastic tiny place. Ask for Wonton Noodle Soup and you'll get this hearty chicken broth over a nice handful of perfectly done thin golden noodles and three or four (lost count) bulky fresh shrimp-filled dumplings. Very very satisfying. I've been there twice now. Tried the soup with fish balls and Gold was correct they are like excellent, albeit rubbery, gefilte fish. I recommend a bit of the rice vinegar and a healthy dose of the chili oil. Next time, I'm going to get vegetables added in the mix. And there will be a next time very soon. 19 E. Valley Blvd.(just east of Garfield). Go now.
