A wonderful meal at Sushi Ota (San Diego)!

Braved the traffic from L.A. to San Diego tonight... Totally worth it for a wonderful dinner at Sushi Ota:

Highlights: Kumamoto oysters (on special), Chu-toro, O-toro, uni sashimi (from San Diego, not Santa Barbara), snow crab sushi, hamachi belly, sake (salmon) belly, lobster dynamite (on special).

Tasted good, but nothing special: Osaka-style batera, miso seabass, maguro, ikura.

I was bummed about: Ota-san running out of mirugai before I arrived.

Great friendly service, large pieces of fish... This L.A. Chowhound is a convert. Ota-san knows what he's doing.
