Another wonderful meal at Lauletta's Grille

Best mussels/clams in garlic & white wine anywhere. No one else comes close. $6.95, and very generous. I always ask for a spoon.

Complex dish of braised scallops with sauce described as lobster creole, topped with a timbale of sauteed spinach. $20, again very generous, but there was no way I was leaving any.

For dessert, my friend and I divvied a portion of chocolate cake to die for, only slightly outstarred by an amaretto cake, light as a feather. Excellent coffee, great service by caring waitress.

Joe Lauletta cooks just about all of the food on the grille in front; his skill is remarkable. One of these days I;m going to order a pasta dish--imaginative and generous. Also, the other appetizers are tempting, but I can never resist the clams or mussels. This place is a winner.(just off the corner of S. 11th and MOrris)
