Thank you, all on this Board who helped with our Paris dining choices. I had been following the postings since I knew about our trip.
We love the bistros.
In my notes from several years ago, I had written that our dinner at Josephine Chez Dumonet was excellent, with the best calves liver I ever had.
This time, we were staying just up the street from it and yes - we both had the calves liver, and agreed that it was absolutely the best we ever had.
The made-to-order tarte tatin was also outstanding.
The next night we walked to our daughter's favorite place, La Cuisine de Philippe. My husband's mushroom souffle was declared the best, our fish entrees were delicious, and my salt-caramel souffle with shaved toasted almonds ranks among my top favorite desserts. Lovely service, with pitchers of ice water served immediately, and extra Grand-Marnier for my husband's dessert souffle.
The night we went to Salle Playel for the orchestra we had just what we needed at Brasserie Lorraine - oysters, fish soup, smoked salmon.
Thanks for all your help.
