Wonderful Blackberries, Corn and Tomatoes - CHEAP!

sushimom | Sep 15, 200312:11 PM

We've been out to Nourse Farm in Westboro MA the past two weekends in a row, picking berries and stocking up on corn and tomatoes. They have fantastic huge blackberries on thornless bushes as pick-your-own (also red raspberries, but they are winding down) for ridiculously low prices. Pick your own is by the pound and I can't remember exactly what it is ($2.40/lb?), but 4 full quarts barely breaks $10. This has to be much less than half the price of Nashoba Valley Winery, where we've picked these blackberries in the past. They also sell big mixed flats of heirloom tomatoes and normal red and yellow tomatoes "for sauce" for just 5 bucks. These are the large "strawberry flats" that hold 10 quart boxes. Most of the tomatoes are "un-lovely" cosmetically, but still firm and great eating. We've also been smoking them and making salsa or loading up the freezer. They also have the best, freshest corn we've had this season. Plus they are very low key and nice. No crowds whatsoever. I have no connection to them, just a satisfied customer!

They are located on Rte. 30 2.5 miles west of the town center of Westboro. Open 9-6 daily, 877-891-1596, according to their ad.
