So last weekend I was doing a batch of Satay on the Weber and since I allready had the hot coals I decided to try doing a stir fry directly on the fire. Pulled out my trusty cast iron wok and put it directly onto the mix of kingsford and mesquite. I did two veg dishe. The first was a bit disapointing and I did not feel like I had any heat benefits over my *$#* electric stove. The second, a batch of greens using a recipe from Hot, SOur, Salty Sweet was much more succesful. I felt like I had significantly more heat and I was able to get a bit of char on the greens without overcooking them. Since the coals on this modest fire were allready dwindling, this seems like an avenue worth exploring. Anyone tried this with any success and have any tips.
