We had a great experience at Winterland Restaurant last night. The food is extremely well executed and presented, and the chef uses superb ingredients. And we ate small plates at the bar! Yes...there is a separate bar menu that offers some unusual and delicious dishes...like tuna tartare with tomato sorbet. The sorbet added a delightful and creative dimension to the dish. We also had roasted asparagus with wild mushrooms. The aparagus and mushrooms were cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning to bring out the natural flavors. The chef, Vernon Morales, learned his craft at some of the best kitchens on the planet including El Bulli, the 3-Michelin-starred restaurant on Spain's Costa Brava. The bar atmosphere is very romantic. We're definitely going back so that we can check out the restaurant menu.
