My parents are coming into town next Friday from Virginia, and they want to go up to Napa/Sonoma to see what it's all about. I've never been to a winery, so I'm hoping for some advice on where to go. Looking back at old CH posts, they seemed to be geared to people who were pretty serious about wine and thinking of buying a lot. We're strictly tourist on this trip and fairly ignorant when it comes to wine, so what I think would be best would be somewhere that we can learn a lot. Or, to put it another way, we're looking for wineries that are particularly pleasant to *visit*, not so much to buy from (although, obviously, someone with good wine will have an advantage built in as far as the total experience goes). Are there wineries that give tours or are we only going to find tasting rooms? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
