This has probably been discussed a 100 times, but do you always tip 15-20% for bottles of wine ordered without the assistance of the sommelier? I was out at dinner the other night with a group of friends and the wine total was like $350. I think we left about 10% for the wine portion and 20% on the food and other beverages (beers, soft drinks). Some didn't feel that opening and pouring (no decanting) merited $70 on top of the $85 or so the waiter was receiving for the other items of the bill (20%). Were we being cheap?
