This has only a little to do with chowhounding, but I think is generally related; I just returned from France, and found a great wine and food magazine there (I forget the name) where they reviewed inexpensive wines, told you the price, then told you which major French supermarkets you could buy them at! I don't know much about wine, so it seems to me that something like this at home would be great for dinner parties, casual get togethers, etc. Does anyone know if there is something similar for the US, in particular bay area stores? I know the Chron has a bargain wine coloumn, but they never tell you where to buy the stuff, plus the list is always at least ten or fifteen items long... (still too confusing for me)
thanks in advance.
