Windsor Cafe

The Windsor Cafe was formerly the Trio Diner, which was reliable, creative and yummy as diners go. I was in Windsor Terrace this afternoon and was in the mood for some diner fare, so I decided to finally try the Windsor Cafe. Bad move.

I ordered a turkey burger deluxe. It arrived with a side of bland iceberg lettuce and pinkish tomatoes (OK, I know it's January). No onions. No coleslaw. No pickle. The burger was not piping hot. It tasted like it was devoid of any seasoning and faintly of freezer burn. The burger was probably a prefab patty. The bun wasn't toasted.

There were three onion rings and a smattering of fries that screamed OreIda.

Maybe there are things they do well, but a burger deluxe platter isn't one of them. Some diner.
