Wild Ginger Restaurant & Hmong style cooking

Carey Tyler Schug | Sep 14, 200310:09 AM

Has anybody tried the Wild Ginger Restaurant at 2203 Clyborn? Their sign said "Thai Regional Cuisine" and listed their phone number as 773-883-0334.

I was given a Thai cookbook which includes recipes from parts of Thailand other than "Bankok & and the cental plains" which is the style of food that Thai restaurants almost universally serve. I have made a few recipes from this book, and noticed that the dishes from the Northeast seem somewhat similar to the Hmong food I ate at the US's largest Hmong fest. I've been to the largest and second largest, pretty much just by luck, I didn't make any special effort, but that's a whole different story. I'd like to try more non-Bankok Thai food, but haven't had a chance to get there yet (and don't have anybody to go with to that location, so wouldn't be able to try much if I went alone).
