"Wild Game Preparation And Edibles" Gate?

Muddirtt | Jan 15, 2014 02:08 PM

Hello all. I've been reading Chowhound forums for months now and recently finally signed up. Great place for discussing everything food and drink.

It occurred to me that there's no specific gate, or "Topic," for wild animal, hunted or not, or growing a garden.

I did a search and didn't find much on CH pertaining to, say, skinning a deer and preparing it for the freezer and cooking it, to harvesting dandelions and mushrooms and their recipes, or maybe different techniques used for preparing a squirrel or dove, along with a tasty recipe for them.

I realize that the Wild Game gate may be graphic, and that a warning message should be involved. Also, courtesy of the fellow vegans should be considered.

I also realize that there is a billion other outdoorsy or hunting forums for this, of which some I belong to. However, I believe Chowhound deserves these topics also. After all, it's all food and preparedness :)

Any ideas? A separate wild game gate along with a separate gardening or wild edibles gate for those folks that like to stay away from the grocery store as much as possible? Or for those homesteaders that have internet? ;)

Just an idea. Thanks for reading!
