Knowing I'd be flying in later that day, my dear brother visited Wilbur's Barbeque of Goldsboro at 10:30 am Christmas Eve - and even that early they were temporarily out of barbeque. So he went back at 1:00 to find that they had sold out for the day, as Wilbur sends everyone packing at 2:00 on Christmas Eve. At a later visit, we learned that they had set a record that day, selling 30 hogs, chopped up into some of America's best wood-smoked barbeque, in just four and one-half hours. We later made up for my earlier deprivation, with sandwiches, brunswick stew, and hush-puppies the insiders'way i.e. dunked into a bowl of chicken gravy (ask the waitress for it), and left until they're gravy-logged!
