So anyone who knows about the Eastern part of the NC BBQ Trail or Eastern NC BBQ in general probably knows about Wilber's in Goldsboro. You can't drive by the place without smelling the coals. Though it has been some time since I've gone in that direction and don't know if the by passes and such take you away from passing it.

Anyways, the place has been shutdown by the NC Department of Revenue for failure to pay taxes. Don't know if that means the restaurant is a goner for good or if people will try to raise money to get it back on its feet, but the BBQ gods have not been good to NC in the last year or so. This is regardless of what you felt about the quality of Wilber's in recent years.
