The cafe in my office building serves dreadful pastries from Il Fornaio. I thought they were a reputable bakery, but perhaps they've gone downhill. The croissants and scones we get are remarkably tough and chewy. The croissants in particular are like eating cardboard. I plan to propose to the manager that they try out other bakeries and thought I should have a few in mind. He or she might agree since these pastries just sit there all day until they're sold at half price right before closing. Any recommendations for wholesale bakeries in SF?
