white soybean paste/miso

I want to try Bobby Flay's miso ginger salmon. I purchased some organic soybean paste (white type/shiro miro) and it doesn't have an expiration date. It just states that you should use it as soon as possible. I've never used miso paste before and I'm wondering how long it will last in the fridge.

Also, has anyone ever made this recipe?
