And more importantly, can I eat it?

I've noticed in the past that watery droplets will form on the cut surfaces of squash and sweet potatoes and other kinds of produce. Not white stuff though.

The stem was moldy, but the flesh was fine, so I just cut around it. I thought it was ok to eat because it's a hard squash, but now I'm having second thoughts.
