I went to a BBQ place in 1999 in the Raleigh-Durham area and can't remember the name of it. I was driven there by a friend attending school in the area (who I've lost touch with).
From my recollection, it was in a large converted white house off the beaten path. The structure was fairly open inside to allow for seating.
You had to wait in line before you were seated and there were a large number of celebrity photos near the line. I particularly recall a number of pictures of the New York Yankees from the 70's or 80's who apparently must have visited this restaurant. Maybe we had to cross some train tracks to get there?
I also recall having an endless supply of hush puppies (my first!) brought to the table. Perhaps this last piece describes many of the BBQ places in the area.
I've wondered for years what the name of the place that served me my first hush puppy was!
Hopefully this is enough to go on - thanks in advance.
