Just wondered what anyone thought of this new rest. in Mira Mesa. Went there Sunday (Fathers Day) and it was only OK. Was trying to figure out if it was b/c it was so busy, there was a line out the door, or if it really was just an average authentic Chinese restaurant.
Cold Plate - BBQ Pork was slice really thick, Jelly Fish was rubbery, and Roast duck was watery, as if it sat on the cold plate too long.
Shark Fin Soup - was the highlight, done very well
Garlic/Spicy Fried Lobster - Too much MSG, Flavor was just not right.
Fried Chinese Chicken - Fried too long and dry
Scallop and Chicken in birdnest - Scallops unflavorful (washed too long) and very average flavor
Scallop and fish fried rice - Very average
Steamed Fish - I think it was a red Cod. Was done well and steamed just right. It came last though and between the Fried Rice and the fish, there was a 20 minute wait.
