Since I heard it was still open, I was thinking of stopping in at Wheeler's on the (long) way from NYC to Detroit. I have memories of going there as a wee kiddie -- I can only remember a screen door, real waitresses, and fried fish on Fridays. I'm sure the fish frys of my memories have little to do with reality--I haven't lived in Syracuse in at least 35 years. (Pretty much all I can remember are coneys, the Mony building, grilled cheese sandwiches at the Rocking Horse or Rocking Chair? coffee shop in (downtown Syracuse?), and of course Baron Daemon and Bloody Buddy soda. Any any comments or suggestions about Wheeler's or anything else outstanding in town or on the road will be appreciated. Thanks.
