i ventured away from the home turf this past weekend for a trip to the lobster trap. all-in-all it was a good experience. tried the lobster bisque (good, but not worth the price), crab cakes (plump, juicy cakes w/ a fair amount of crab), crab dip (excellent) & my wife tried the oysters (fantastic value, 12 for $8; downside is she's been sick w/ what appears to be food poisoning since then - she says this is the risk you run w/ oysters, & that she'd get them again - not sure what this says about my wife or oyster eaters in general). ambience was good, we sat at the warm food bar, so we had a view of the chef and staff doing their thing. everything we saw coming from the kitchen looked delicious. service was a tad slow to start, but improved with time. drinks were good albeit pricey (but then they are pretty much everywhere - $3 margaritas @ lucky otter are my benchmark). anyone else have experience with this place? alternatives for seafood?
