I'm considering giving the following Westport Rivers class to a wine-lover as a gift, but wanted some feedback from anyone out there who's been to their classes and/or wine dinners. I think the class is a good value, but it's still pricey, so I wanted some reassurance before purchasing it. Please provide me with any feedback you have about the class, the Winery, or the chef! Join us for an exciting behind-the-scenes experience with Westport Rivers Winery owners Rob and Bill Russell, and Executive Chef of the Long Acre House Food & Wine Education Center, Kerry Downey-Romaniello. Learn the ins and outs of running a vineyard and making wine, from the vineyard to the table. Follow the growing season, month-by-month, and get your hands dirty in the vineyards. Each session will focus on one aspect of the entire wine experience: begin with a vineyard introduction in the fields, then return monthly to enjoy classes on vine and winery work. The class culminates with a grape harvest and pressing. At the end of each class, enjoy a wine tasting and appreciate it even more knowing what goes into each glass! At the last class, enjoy a delectable wine dinner prepared by Chef Downey-Romaniello exclusively for the group, matching local ingredients with Westport wines for a truly amazing culinary (and oenophilic) experience. Wear pants and close-toed shoes for the work sessions, and dress appropriately for weather conditions. Please let us know your t-shirt size and any food allergies or dietary considerations when registering. Tuition includes a $288 materials fee for all vineyard equipment, the food and wine dinner, wine tastings in each class, wine glasses, a Westport t-shirt, Chef Downey-Romaniello's cookbook, and beverages and wine during class time.
