Western Nova Scotia food sources/butchers

Bay of Foody | Nov 30, 2004 12:15 PM

We are looking for good food sources and butchers in the western half of Nova Scotia. Preferably Wolfville/Annapolis Valley/Digby area, but anywhere from Halifax west is OK if worth the shlep.

Dried foods and whole spices we can bring in ourselves. And we’re rational; we won’t be whining about a lack of galangal. However:

- Meats and butchers are especially a problem. Who around there has decent meats and knows what to do with them?
- Would REALLY like to have a source for magret. Real ventreche would be nice, too.
- Also, fresh herbs.

Anything else you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, all.
