West Village Native Gives recommendations

A friend of mine who I really trust recently came up with a list of favorite downtown restaurants. I've tried several, and had some really great food. Thi si not a list of the best restaurants Down town. I guess you'd have to know Holly to appeciate her choices: She's 31, smart, warm, generous, professional, cool, a new mom, serious about food, and demanding but fair. Her list:

Il Buco (amazing food, can get pricey)
Po (my favorite restaurant in New York. Get the white bean ravioli with butter balsamic sauce)
Il Mulino (amazing food, can get crowded)
Lupa (amazing food -- Mario restaurant)
The Tasting Room- Tiny, hip mom and pop place only small plates,
71 Clinton Fresh Food (foody's place)
Chez Michellet (romantic west village)
Grange Hall (west village, good homestyle food)
Mexican Mama (Hudson street in West village) -- tiny, great food, may have to wait
Chez Es Saada (romantic east village)
Il Bagatto (really really really cheap, great italian food. Need reservations and can't be late)
Esperanto (Brazilian place in east village, very casual. Best Mojitos)

I've been to Tasting room; Po; Chez Michellet. All excellent. I know, I have to go to Lupa. Your comments are welcome.
