I have a jar at home of a hot pepper spice I love. I just bought it randomly when I saw it in the Carribbean/Jamaican section of Pathmark.
I tried to find more detail online, but the closest thing to it I think it might be is this.
African bird pepper Notes: This is the North African equivalent of our cayenne pepper. Substitutes: cayenne pepper
The jar really just says "West African Hot Pepper." It's really potent, but has a lot of flavor along with the heat.
I'm curious to find more info on what this pepper is. If it's even a blend or what chili it comes from. And what recipes it is used in?
