After a crazy, long summer we finally made it back up to Maine. Met up with some family members we hadn't seen in several months. It was nice despite the downpour of rain. We were all trying to decide on a restaurant to meet at for dinner and went to the locals for a recommendation. They sent us to this little place off the beaten path. Actually, we would have never found it had we not been given explicit directions. Anyways, it was the best! Family style place with picnic tables and benches, but it's cute and comfortable with a view of the marshlands and the harbor.
Absolutely the best scallops I've ever eaten. My daughter and I split the captains plate. Believe me, there was plenty of food for both of us, clams, scallops, shrimp and big chunks of fresh haddock. We started out with the chowders, she had the clam and I had the fish. Mine was outstanding, loaded with fish and a wonderful creamy broth. The clam chowder could have used more clams even though it was tasty. Other members in our party had the crab, clam and shrimp cakes, the jumbo shrimp and the lobster stew. Everyone was quite satisfied and we all concluded that we'd be back next season. They are open for a couple more weeks, so if you're looking for great fried foods, or great chowders. Stop in it's worth the trip.
