Weird experience at Shade in the Houston Heights

Josh Harkinson | Aug 23, 2004 03:27 PM

I went to Shade this weekend, the new, well-regarded restaurant in the Heights, and ordered the lamb cooked with mustard seed sauce, which costs about $20. It tasted exactly like a hot dog. I am not kidding. Texture and appearance aside, the taste was 100 percent, straight-off-the-grill hot dog. My girlfried tasted it an had the same reaction. I'm curious if anybody else has had this dish, and if you reacted the same way. There should be laws against this.
