Weird experience as Miss Saigon's.

Jess | Feb 20, 2005 12:31 AM

I decided to try vietnamese food for the first time tonight. I went to a resteraunt in georgetown called Miss Saigon. I ordered these garden rolls, which had shrimp and pork in it but the menu said you could also order it as a vegetarian dish. I don't really like shrimp so I asked for it vegetarian style.

I recieved it and it had raw beef in the middle. I was a bit baffled. I know that raw beef is served in other vietnamese meals but it seemed weird to stick in a supposedly vegetarian dish. I tried to ask the waiter to explain why it was there but he semeed sort of confused. (the service was pretty weird)

The main dish I had, caramel ginger chicken in a claypot was really nice, however. Not sure if I'd go back. Maybe I need to do more reserach on vietnamese cooking.
