i´m down to my last few weeks in Santiago, Chile, am starting to panic about all the foods I will miss when I go back to the US, so I have been eating a lot lately......
had lunch at Bar Nacional 1 in downtown Santiago today , pastel de choclo was very tasty, along with a chirimoya juice and flan for dessert.
The other night went to Fuente Suiza, in Plaza Ñuñoa, had scallop and cheese fried empanadas (this place does them right!), a churrasco (steak) sandwich with tomato, avocado, mayo and ¨spicy¨ mustard, and beer (won`t really miss chilean beer, or their ¨spicy¨ mustard).
Although I wouldn`t say good food is one of Chile´s outstanding characteristics, there are some things that are great.
I am eating as much manjar, mote con huesillos, empanadas and avocado as possible.
I know that Taiwan Cafe in Boston is waiting for me when I get home,
