Weekly Menu Plans – May 2017 First Half

MidwesternerTT | Apr 28, 201706:55 AM     459

May – A month filled with celebrations from Cinco de Mayo, to Mother’s Day (also known as “Fishing Opener Weekend” here in Minnesota) to graduations, with a garnish of wedding showers, weddings and baby showers for good measure. And looking ahead, a month ending with school picnics and the start of USA family vacation times Memorial Day weekend.

Let's use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in the 1st half of May. What family favorite dish is planned for this week? Will you be joining in the Cookbook of the Month (A.O.C. by Suzanne Goin), make a DOTM (Dish of the Month) or something from the Spring quarterly baking book (Classic Home Desserts by Richard Sax)?

Planning meals ahead helps you remember to take that 5 pound roast out of the freezer to thaw, and then actually cook it, too. (We’ve all made one or both of those mistakes, haven’t we?)

You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others and as your own reality-check for next week’s plans. We all know plans change, and will cheer with you when recipe planned for weeks gets made at last.

It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help.

The April Second Half discussion is still available for reporting last week and follow-ups.
