Weekly Menu Planning August 2019

MidwesternerTT | Jul 27, 201907:34 PM     224

Let’s use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in August. It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help.

This is the month of garden-harvests here in MN – pretty much everything ripening at once, including (I hope) my tomatoes in a planter on the back deck. I’ll be reviewing zucchini recipes, and will likely increase the number of meals featuring salad-as-main-dish. It’s also family vacations month, with week-long trips “up north” to the lake for some, or cross-country road trips to visit relatives. Will you be cooking in an unfamiliar kitchen, making and taking picnics, or trying new restaurants?

We all know plans can change, so it’s fine (practically expected) when your week gets rearranged from your posted plan. You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others.

If you are looking for inspiration or challenge in the kitchen, tell us what you’ll be trying with the Cookbook of the Month (COTM) crowd from PATI'S MEXICAN TABLE by Pati Jinich. Or maybe the selected Dish of the Month (DOTM) – either paella or English muffins/crumpets - will make an appearance at your table.

The July discussion is still available for reporting the last week and follow-ups. https://www.chowhound.com/post/weekly...

Reminder – Keep your comments menu / food related. And in the interest of faster viewing times, please use the Heart under a comment to indicate you liked it or want to echo what was said by another, rather than posting a separate comment.
