Weekly Menu Planning - May 2020

MidwesternerTT | Apr 24, 202002:00 PM     437

Let’s use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in May.

As we enter our third month of varying degrees of closures for restaurants, shopping and schools we’re doing still more home food preparation. May is typically a month of celebrations – Mothers Day, wedding showers, and graduation parties. What are your strategies for celebrations while “social distancing”? Warming weather means more outdoor grilling for some, more cold salads & sandwiches for others. Picnics at the park, patio, or backyard may counter-balance the too-much-togetherness feeling most of us have now. And especially for those juggling work from home or home schooling with meal preparations, planning continues to be a key for daily stress reduction.

If you are looking for inspiration or challenge in the kitchen, tell us what you’ll be trying with the Cookbook of the Month (COTM) crowd https://www.chowhound.com/post/2020-c... from the Serious Eats online site. Or maybe the selected Dish of the Month (DOTM) will make an appearance at your table.

It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help. We all know plans can change, so it’s fine (practically expected) when your week gets rearranged from your posted plan. You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others.

The April discussion is still available for reporting the last week and follow-ups.
