Was in Rome this past weekend and had a couple good finds.
1. Pizzeria Remo (Piazza Santa Maria Liberatrice 44) --Definitely a local hangout. In the front of the restaurant, there are three guys making super thin crust pizza in a wood-burning pizza oven. Great atmosphere and really cheap. Couldn't imagine anything more Italian or pizza any better.
2. Ristorante Montevecchio (Piazza Montevecchio, 22a - right off the Vie Dei Coronari) -- We were originally planning on going to Cantina Del Vecchio (Via dei Coronari 30) but found this place right through the street alongside. It had only been open 5 days but the food was great. The night we went was slow (they attributed this to the weather) but the food definitely didn't warrant a small crowd. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable. I hope this place stays around because I'll definitely go back.
