Weekend Report

Friday night - Megu midtown. Service and decor were outstanding. Food was great. We ordered lots of cooked and raw food and no sushi.

Saturday - E.A.T for a bite before the MET. Never having been before, it was better than I had heard. We had the asian salmon on field greens and the omelette with vegetables over greens. They had wonderful breads on the side that were made there. Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice hit the spot.

Saturday night - CraftSteak. Much better than I remembered. We had oysters, sweetbreads and fois grois to start. I had the sea bass with a side of hen of the woods mushrooms and swiss chard. YUM. The 3 others all ordered steak and they could not rave enough. 2 were grass fed and the filet was corn fed. Desserts we had the donuts, sorbet and ice cream. Service here was wonderful.

Sunday - Decided on a whim in SoHo to show a friend a few places. First were oysters and champagne at Aquagrill...always a pleasure. Next stop was the shellfish plateau at Blue Ribbon which had the most amazing King Crab. Last stop was Blue Ribbon Sushi. We had the miso cod, sashimi, miso eggplant, mushroom soup and a nice bottle of Sake.

I think I am staying home a couple of nights now :)
