I've been to Paris a few times, and will now spend a few days in this city just before Christmas again. I'll be staying at a hotel near Le Bon Marche. I won't be doing any sightseeing, but rather visit the Basquiat expo and do some pre-Christmas shopping and chilling. I'll arrive on Friday and leave on Monday.
I'm looking for some recommendations regarding specific dishes, inspired by the recent post on the best roast chicken in Paris. I'm not looking for Michelin restaurants, just proper honest French food. Something like Lazare as was mentioned in the roast chicken post.
Ideally located in the area near Le Bon Marche, or in the 6/7 arrondissements, but would be happy to cross the Seine. Would actually love to hear about a place like Lazare in that area, with such a menu. But I haven't been in this area in years so would love some suggestions.
Tartare de bœuf
Entrecôte de bœuf
Choucroute garni (used to go to Lipp all the time)
Fricassée de volaille and/or poulet rôti (anywhere with good poultry)
Pate de campagne (used to love the one at Le Comptoir du Relais)
In the area around Le Bon Marche, or even Rue du Bac, is there a good wine bar, where I can have some drinks and bites (cheese, charcuterie) around 5-7PM? Also looking for a good patisserie shop or a place to get baguettes for lunch. I live in the Netherlands and will drive to Paris: I'll probably buy some wine and delicatessen to bring home.
