Wedding Party at Beer Garden

Blind Willie Johnson | Jun 25, 2003 10:13 AM

I was the guy who was worried about what to order for our party at the Bohemian Beer Garden because of a few bad experiences. Turns out, everything was fine! Several steps above 80% of crap wedding food I've had.

It might have helped that there was a change in management 2 days before the party. Actually, that was pretty damn scary too. I called with a question and they didn't know who I was and had no idea about the party we had planned! Apparently the manager was fired in an messy fashion and he left no paperwork behind.

Anyway, the new manager seemed much more eager to please than the previous one. We arranged everything the day before the party and everything worked out.

We had the party in the bohemian hall, since the rain was torrential. Kind of ashame we couldn't do it outside but the room is cool in it's own way.

The Spaten Oktoberfest was excellent, as usual. The Polish kielbasa was delicious. Spinach and mushroom crepes -- surprisingly good! Also some breaded chicken cutlets which were a perfect greasilicious companion piece to the Spaten.

They also charged us half of what the prior manager has quoted for the food, per person. I don't know if that's because of the mishap -- but I wasn't about to complain about that!

IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS PLANNED A PARTY AT THE BEER GARDEN: You might want to call to make sure they still have your info. The place seems to be in the middle of some serious upheaval.
