i have a friend who is geting married this weekend. unfortunately, she has run into a snag with the cake. my wife and i are hoping to help her out (while we've never made a wedding cake, my wife is an accomplished baker and i'm a pretty good assistant). the question is, how big of a cake (we're thinking round tiers since we have a variety of pans) to serve 30 people? yeah, i know we're insane, but we really want to help her out.
we're thinking pound cake with buttercream frosting and a decoration of fresh flowers. any suggestions?
