If we're talking about online, I'd like to recommend Barrington Roasters in Great Barrington, Ma.--http://barringtoncoffee.com. Their espresso blend (which is served at both locations in Manhattan of Joe's Art of Coffee) is as good as any I can remember from Italy.
By the way, if you order online, you'll get the beans a day or two after they're roasted. The latest thinking among coffee afficianados is that beans should rest a few days before using--and should be discarded after about 14 days. If you'll be using less than a pound in that time frame, you might want to just go to Joe's and buy the beans--they are happy to sell them in as little as 1/4 lb. portions (but then again, they're in Manhattan and this whole conversation concerns buying beans in Brooklyn).
