Finally ate there on Friday -- it was quite quiet (people out of town I guess). 8/9's of the meal was great. Here's the breakdown:

Apps:
-- Foie gras with grapefruit and nori
-- hamachi with roasted pear and mushroom strudel
-- corned duck with rye crisp, purple mustard and horseradish cream

All excellent. A nice variety, inventive, tasty.

Entrees:
-- Pork belly with soy beans and turnips (spectacular. God, I love pork fat.)
-- Flatiron beef with spinach, pickled marrow and onion tart (excellent, except that the onion tart, while very good, didn't actually go all that well with the beef and spinach. But all the elements were great.)
-- Monkfish with squash and pear consomme (the only failure of the meal. The fish was inconsistently cooked and the flavors -- well, there really weren't any. Could be a fault of the dishes we were tasting it with, but I'd say, beyond subtle and just lame.)

Desserts:

-- Chocolate cream, coffee soil and tonka bean ice cream (great. the choc was in a kind of shell, the soil is actually cocoa and almond flour I think)
-- "French Toast" (lovely, if tiny. comes with vanilla ice cream a little crumble of bacon)
-- the third dessert escapes me, but it was good. :)

Had a great bottle of gigondas. Meal came to about $80/person.
